Date of announcement -
15 May, 2003 - Load Balancing becomes more Robust at GlobalCenter
With the recent increased uptake of
the IP Load Balancing service to our clients, it has become necessary
to expand the robust nature of this service with additional redundant
equipment.
During a recent maintenance window
our skilled Engineers upgraded our Load Balancing equipment to a
more scalable and reliable architecture, with minimal effect on
clients using this service.
Load Balancing enables clients to balance
requests for their applications across multiple servers, whilst
simultaneously providing redundancy amongst servers. Typical applications
include high volume e-commerce websites, and connection oriented
applications that have high CPU and memory requirements.
The GlobalCenter Load Balancing service
is a scalable approach to load balancing your application, with
multiple low-cost servers being the preferred method, rather than
one or two high-powered costly servers.
The GlobalCenter Load Balancing service
provides many different configuration options, such as ratio, round
robin and priority for load balancing algorithms and session persistence
based on HTTP cookie insert, rewrite and SSL session id.
Should you consider this important
to your mission critical service, I recommend you contact our sales
staff on sales@globalcenter.net.au
to discuss this service further.
