GlobalCenter Privacy Statement


At GlobalCenter we are dedicated to maintaining the privacy of our web hosting and co-location clients. Once you have chosen to become a GlobalCenter customer, we warrant that all of your personal information will be used exclusively to provide you with our comprehensive services.

When you establish web hosting or co-location services with GlobalCenter, you will be asked to provide contact and payment information. This contact information may include your name, address, phone number, email address and other relevant details to enable us to provide our services to you. The payment information may typically include a credit card number or specific details relevant to the elected payment method. During the normal course of providing our web hosting or co-location services, we may also create and maintain other information such as account status, system usage, plan type and support requests. All information collected by GlobalCenter will be used for the sole purpose of maintaining and building a successful relationship with you as our customer.

How does GlobalCenter use customer information?

  • We do not sell or rent any customer information.
  • We use customer information to notify customers of system and service related issues including system upgrades, scheduled maintenance, network downtime, newly added services or features and any other communication deemed relevant to the provision and continuance of our service.
  • We may share customer information with partner companies or our related body corporates when a customer has requested a service or product provided by that specific company as per the national Privacy Act. The information given will only be that which is necessary to implement the service or product requested.
  • To the extent required by law, we may disclose customer information including the name, contact, or pursue legal action against persons causing harm or interfering with the rights or property of GlobalCenter, our customers, or others.

Information Security and Accuracy

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and from unauthorised access.

All staff are instructed not to disclose private information to anyone. We take security very seriously. We attempt to keep all information up to date but we rely on you to inform us of any changes of your details.

How does GlobalCenter use cookies?

Cookies are pieces of information generated by a Web server and stored on a user's computer. GlobalCenter does not use cookies to track or collect information specific to the web activities of our customers. We exclusively use cookies to authenticate users accessing the Control Panel and to securely store login data. We use a session cookie, which allows the cookie to remain active only while your browser is open. After the browser is closed the cookie expires.

Calling Line Identification (CLI) / Calling Number Display (CND)

CLI is data created whenever you establish a call to our network. This data includes the calling party's number, the date and time of the call, the duration of the call and some routing information. CLI is important to the successful operation of any telecommunications network and allows us to efficiently manage calls, provide accurate billing and investigate any alleged fraudulent use of your account.

BIGBLUE complies with the Industry Code - Calling Number Display (ACIF C522: February 2003) ("the CND Code") and will only use this information as required in the normal practice of carrying on our business as an Internet Service Provider. Any information collected by BIGBLUE for this purpose shall not be used for any behavioural monitoring, marketing or data mining.

Please note that we may charge a handling and materials fee depending on circumstances and information requested.


Removal of your Information

You may request in writing that certain information about you is removed, which we will comply with, provided that information is not necessary for tax purposes, to identify you or for contractual reasons. We will not consider requests to alter or remove statistical information. We cannot prevent our web servers from issuing cookies, it is your responsibility to refuse acceptance of these if you so wish.
